Full Description

For that special family occasion or just the chance to relax with a group of friends why not book a break staying in a railway carriage.
One of our remarkably restored, vintage, self-catering railway carriages could be just what you are after. From the outside the carriages look like historic Great Western Railway rolling stock but on the inside they offer the ultimate in modern holiday accommodation.

The old train station is one of England’s most romantic secrets in a charming, peaceful, rural setting where you can unwind in comfort, surrounded by beautiful woodland. We are situated in the picturesque surroundings of the Ironbridge Gorge (UNESCO World Heritage Site) overlooking the River Severn at Coalport and located on the Severn Valley Way. The gorge still has part of the ancient forests that once covered the whole of England.

Explore the birth place of the Industrial Revolution by visiting the local Ironbridge Gorge museums. There are ten to choose from including Blists Hill where you can immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a Victorian town. There is also much for aviation buffs to enjoy by visiting the huge array of aircraft and displays at RAF Cosford.

Our local English Heritage and National Trust sites include The Iron Bridge, Buildwas Abbey, Wenlock Abbey and Wroxeter Roman City. Stately homes and gardens open to the public include Weston Park, Benthal Hall, Attingham Park, Dudmaston Estate and Sunnycroft. There’s also the Maws Craft Centre and even the quirky and quaint Land of Lost Content if you like anything vintage.

There are some fantastic opportunities for walking and cycling in the local area. On our doorstep is the Mercian way (Cycle route 45), taking you to either Ironbridge or Bridgnorth, and the Silkin Way (Cycle route 55) towards either Ironbridge or Telford. Don’t forget to check out our picturesque local towns of Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth, the latter has a Low and High Town with a Funicular Cliff Railway running between them and the start of the Severn Valley Railway. Further afield there is plenty to do in the county towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

The luxuriously equipped carriages have been awarded 4+ star accreditation and feel genuinely spacious while boasting the ultimate in modern conveniences.
